When Small Business Phone Systems Make Sense
When you call a large corporation or business, you rarely get a busy signal right? Now, if you think about it, a large business should have hundreds of calls a day, and yet when you try to contact them, you are easily connected. How is that so? Well, simply put, they use a complex phone system to handle the calls. What happens is, given a single number, when you call you get an operator who then patches you through to the person you wish to speak to. The system works by having just one main phone that can be connected to several, maybe even hundreds, of phones with a push of a button.
Large corporations have these systems because they, well need it, and they can afford it. It’s easier to have a single number rather than a hundred different ones right? Now, question is, can this system work with small businesses? Simple answer? Yes. You see, a small business phone system basically works the same as a large business one. You get a main phone, where an operator handles the incoming calls, then patches the call to the intended person or department. The difference between the two though is that with a small business, you won’t need to have hundreds of connecting phones, where 10 or 20 will do.
Now this brings us to cost. Imagine how much a big business must spend for its phone system. From the main phone and line, to the individual phones. Not to mention the cost of the installation of each phone as well as many other costs. Being a big business with a big budget, this might seem like a but a small dent to its overall finances. Though it costs a small fortune, big businesses don’t mind. However, it is this concern over costs that ultimately stops a small business from having its own system installed.
But there’s good news for small businesses. Owners of small enterprises and companies need not shell out a small fortune to get the phone system of their bigger brethren. There are special packages that cater to the small business. Because a company of 10 staff need not have a system that numbers a hundred anyway right? Think of the system like a mini version. Or maybe a la carte. You only pay what you need. No need to force a big sized system into a small business. It just doesn’t make sense.
So if you are a small business owner, looking to automate your phone system, take a look at what a small business phone system can do for you. The advantage? You can handle more calls. Calls that are from potential clients. Potential paying clients. How many times have you tried calling a service you need, only to get a busy signal? Then moving on to the next business? That’s what happens if you get busy signals all the time. Time to put a stop to that and be able to handle multiple callers then right?
